A lovely candlelight ceremony
was held at Trinity Episcopal
church, Warsaw, Friday evening,
when Sandra Scroger, daughter of
Mrs. Geraldine Scroger of East
Pembroke, and Clarence Scroger of
Hunt, became the bride of Donald
J. Benedict, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Benedict of Castile.
The 'bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor
length gown of white silk organza
with a chapel length train. The portrait
neckline was trimmed with
Aloncon lace and sequins and the
bouffant skirt had appliques of the
same lace and sequins. Her fourtiered
veil of silk illusion was attached
to a braided headdress of
tulle and sequins. She wore her
groat-grand'mother's cameo, pinned
to the wrist of her gown and carried
a crescent shaped bouquet of
white lilacs centered with an
orchid.
Mrs. John Muskopf of East Pembroke,
aunt of the bride, was matron
of honor. The bride's roommate,
Miss Rita Stone of Corfu,
was the bridesmaid. They were attired
alike in gowns of lilac chiffon
whh lace bodices. Their headdresses
were braided lilac tulle
trimmed with small flowers and
nose veils. They carried crescent
shaped bouquets of purple lilacs
centered with white pompoms tied
with lilac satin bows.
The flower girl was Christine
Muskopf of East Pembroke. She
wore a floor length gown of white
nylon organdy over taffeta and net.
The bouffant skirt was trimmed
with a band of Irish lace over lilac
taffeta, which also trimmed her
wide sash and back bow. She wore
a crown of Irish lace over lilac
tr.rnmed wtih small flowers and a
nose veil. Her bouquet was a nosegay
of mixed spring flowers.
Clarence Baker of Buffalo was
the best man. Thomas Scroger of
Hunt, brother of the bride, Robert
Dike and Robert Sherman were the
ushers.
The bride's mother wore pink
silk organza and pink accessories
and the bridegroom's mother wore
orchid sheer and black accessories.
Both wore corsages of pink roses.
A reception for two hundred
guests was held immediately following
the ceremony at the Moose
club in Warsaw. The bride's table
was centered with a five-tiered
wedding cake, decorated in. pink
and white. The floral decorations
were also in pink and white. Mrs.
Charles Barrett of Batavia served
the cake, while Jean Tyler, Connie
Juzwiak and Diane Lynch, all class-
mates of the bride, presided at the
punch bowl 'and coffee urn.
Mrs. Benedict is a member of the
senior class at the Wyoming County
Community Hospital School of
Nursing and Mr. Benedict is employed
at Page Airways in Rochester.
Following the reception the
bridal couple left on a trip to the
Adirondacks. Upon their return
they will reside in Orchard street,
Warsaw.
Prenuptial events included a
variety shower given by Mrs. Roy
Stringham at the home of Mrs.
John Barrett in Batavia, a variety
shower given by Mrs. Thelma
Kellar and Mrs. Mary Whitney at
:heir home in Oakfleld, also a variety
Shower given by Mrs. Charles
Barrett at the home of her mother,
Mrs. Louise Seibert, in East
Pembroke, a variety shower given
by the bride's aunts, Mrs. Carl
Scroger, Mrs. Louis Scroger, Mrs.
Elwin Scroger and Mrs. Albert
Scroger, at the home of Mrs. Carl
Scroger in Oakfield. Mrs. John
Muskopf gave a personal shower in
her home at East Pembroke.
