The marriage of Miss Betty
Bench, daughter of Mr. aud Mrs.
Roy C. Bench of 56 Grant Avenue,
to Sergt. George P. Diehl, Jr., son
of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Diehl,
Sr., of 172& VanAnden Street was
solemnized at 12 o'clock Tuesday in
St. Alojsius Church. Rev. John B.
Crowley, the pastor, performed the
ceremony.
The bride, who was given In marriage
by her mother, wore a spring
violet suit with white accessories
and her corsage was of white roses
aud carnations. Miss Vera Bench,
a sister of the bride, wore a brown
suit with white accessories and her
bouquet was of yellow roses and
carnations. John C. Carmody of
Sherman Street was best man.
A -wedding luncheon and reception
attended by 30 guests, was
held at the home of the brides sis.
ter, Mrs. Stuart S. Mackay, 180
North Street. The decorations were
spring flowers, yellow and white.
The bride's gift to her attendant;
was a necklace and the bridegroom
presented his best man with a tie
clasp.
After a short wedding trip, the
bridegroom will return to his duties
at Fort George C. Meade. Maryland.
Sergeant and Mrs. Diehl are
graduates of Auburn East High
School.
