Following a New England wedding trip, Mr. and
Mrs. Roger William Grove, whose marriage was solemnized
Saturday afternoon at 4 in the First Methodist
Church, Middleport, will reside inIthaca. The bride is
the former Beverly Ann Keljkenberg, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin R. Kelkenberg of Gasport. The bride-
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grove of Mid-
dleport.
The Rev. Alfred Underbill officiated
at the ceremony before
the altar banked with palms, candelabra
and baskets of white gladioli
and asters. Family pews were
marked with white satin bows.
Mr. Kelkenberg gave the bride
in marriage. She wore a full
length gown of Chantilly lace and
telle fashioned frith a scalloped
circlet neckline, adorned with iridescent
sequins and long tapered
sleeves A fitted Basque bodice
of lace topped the bouffant skirt
distinguished by lace panniers at
the sides which fell to a brush
train.
CARRIES BOLE
Her hand rolled elbow-length
veil of pure silk illusion was held
by a coronet of iridescent pailletts
and seed pearls. She carried
a crescent shaped bouquet of
white carnations and stephanotis
on a white Bible.
Mrs. Alfred Blake of Lockport
was matron of honor. The other
attendants were Miss Nancy
Grove of Middleport, sister of the
bridegroom, and Mrs. Robert Ostrom
of Gasport. They wore identical
day-length gowns of iridescent
leaf green taffeta with fitted
cummerbunds and bouffant skirts
complemented by short jackets
with bracelet-length sleeves, and
matching velvet bandeaux. The
maid of honor carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow carnations, dazzler
sweetheart roses and stephanotis,
while the other attendants
carried cascade bouquets of yellow
carnations and dazzler sweetheart
roses.
Best man was Richard Drum
of Gasport. Ushering duties were
performed by Fred Knapp of
Brockport, fraternity brother of
the bridegroom, Edwin Grove of
Middleport, brother of the bridegroom,
Ernest Kelkenberg of
Gasport. brother of the bride.
and John Walker of Medina.
Mrs. Harold Sheldon of Middleport
played the wedding music.
GRANDMOTHFR ATTENDS
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Kelkenberg chose a pastel
blue taffeta and lace day-length
dress, beige and white accessor-
ies and a corsage of pink garnet
roses. The bridegroom's mother
favored a beige silk day-length
dress, navy blue accessories and
a corsage of dazzler sweetheart
roses. A corsage of pink carnations
complemented the navy blue
dress worn by the maternal grandmother
of the bridegroom, Mrs
Floyd Hooper.
The Gasport Fire Hall was the
scene of the evening reception
from 5 to 9. Centering the bride's
table was the four-tiered wedding
cake topped with a miniature
bride and bridegroom, the attendants'
bouquets and white candles
in crystal holders. Presiding
at the punch bowl were Mrs. John
Walker of Medina, cousin of the
bride, and Miss Penny Kelkenberg
of Gasport. niece of the bride. The
guest book was in charge of Miss
Carol Grove of Middleport, sister
of the bridegroom.
As the couple left for a wedding
trip through the New England
States, the bride was wearing a
pink cord suit, gray and white
accessories and a white sweetheart
rose corsage. They will reside
in the Taggin Wagon Trailer
Court. Ithaca.
Guest attended from Brockport,
Medina. Rhode Island, New York
City. Rochester and Buffalo.
Both the bride and bridegroom
were graduated from Royalton
Hartland Central School. The
bridegroom is a senior at the New
York state college of Agriculture
at Cornell University, Ithaca.
The rehearsal party was held
at the home of the bridegroom's
parents.
