The First Presbyterian
Church in Lockport was the
setting Saturday, July 1, 1967
for the wedding of Miss Karen
J. Hiam and Chester K.
Walk at 4:30 p.m.
White chrysanthemums and
pompons decorated t h e
church when Dr. W. James
Westhafer officiated at the
wedding ceremony with Mrs.
Beatrice Frasier providing
the organ music.
The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Jean Hiam of 10
Elmwood Ave., Lockport,
and the bridegroom is the
son of Mrs. Bessie Walk,
Minden, Nev. and C. A. Kortum,
Rawlins, Wyo.
Miss Hiam was given in
marriage by her grandfather,
Charles Bourlier, and
wore a floor - length gown
of white chiffon with white
taffeta embroidery covering
the lace bodice. Her princess
crown of crystals and rhinestones
held an elbow length
veil of silk illusion with
which she carried a bouquet
of white roses surrounded by
white carnations and p i nk
sweetheart roses.
The bride's aunt, Mrs.
Phyllis Guay, was matron
of honor and wore a turquoise
linen gown with
matching headpiece. She
carried a nosegay of turquoise
and white carnations.
Bridesmaids, Mrs. Betty
Singleton and Mrs. Gail
Colton, were attired in
gowns of light blue and yellow
similar to the honor attendant's
and carried nosegays
of contrasting carnations.
Ronald Hiam was best
man with John O'Neill and
Terry Kortum as ushers.
The bride's mother was
attired in an avacado chiffon
dress with a scalloped
lace bodice and matching accessories
for the wedding.
A buffet supper and reception
was held at the VFW
Hall on Caledonia Street,
Lockport, following the ceremony.
The couple left for a wedding
trip to Neveda and Wyoming
where they will visit
the bridegroom's parents,
and will make their future
home at 50 Locust St., Lockport
when they return.
The bride is a graduate of
Lockport Senior High School
and the bridegroom is presently
stationed at Lockport
Air Force Base.

Miss Hiam is a graduate
of Lockport Senior High
School. Airman Walk is
serving with the U n i t ed
States Air Force and is
stationed at the Lockport
Air Force Station, Sanborn.
A July 1, 1967 wedding
is planned.
