St. Michael's Lutheran
Church, Wolcottsville, was the
setting for the wedding of
Phyllis E. Gillmeister and
Lynn D. Mietz in a 4 p.m.
ceremony on July 24. The Rev.
Glenn Richardson of St.
Michael's and the Rev. Donald
Willman of Trinity Lutheran
Church, Wolcottsville, officiated
before an altar graced
by an arrangement of white
gladioli, white carnations, and
yellow fugi mums.
The bride is the daughter of
the late Charles and Lillian
Gillmeister and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Mietz of 6211 Wolcottsville
Road, Akron.
Escorted to the altar by her
uncle, Louis Gillmeister, the
bride wore a gown of white
organza featuring a Queen
Anne neckline. The bodice and
neckline were accented with
Venice lace and seed pearls.
The full bishop sleeves were
trimmed with embroidered
lace and the cuffs with Venice
lace and pearls. The cathedral
length train and skirt were
encircled with Venice lace.
A tango lengh mantilla veil
and juliet cap both trimmed in
Venice lace and pearls completed
the bride's ensemble.
She carried a colonial bouquet
of white miniature carnations,
yellow fugi mums, stephanotis,
and baby's breath.
Judie Gillmeister, niece of
the bride, of Cheektowaga,
served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Christine
Mietz and Sherry Mietz, nieces
of the groom, both of Ipswich,
England.
The attendants wore gowns
of sheer ribbonet organza with
spaghetti straps and satin
ribbon sashes at the waist.
Matching sleeveless jackets
edged with lace completed
their ensembles. The maid of
honor was attired in yellow and
the bridesmaids in pink and
aqua respectively.
They carried colonial
bouquets of white fugi mums,
miniature carnations the same
color as their dresses, euiu
baby's breath. In their hair
they wore puffs of baby's
breath the same color as their
dresses.
Dennis Cummings of Akron
served as best man. Ushering
duties were performed by
Mark Gillmeister, nephew of
the bride, of Nichols, N.Y., and
Lee Mietz, brother of the
groom, of Ipswich, England.
Following the ceremomy a
reception was held at
Wolcottsville Fire Hall. Out of
town guests attended from
R o c h e s t e r , Syracuse,
Camillus, Massachusetts,
Michigan, Wisconsin, Virginia.
South Carolina, Iowa, Colorado
and England. A rehearsal
dinner was given by the
groom's parents.
The couple honeymooned in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
