Chester Matthew Wrobel

NIAGARA FALLS - Chester Matthew Wrobel, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2014, at ECMC. He was born on June 27, 1923, the son of Peter and Viola (Bukowski) Wrobel.
Chester attended St. Stanislaus Kostka School, Gaskill Junior High School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1941. He was a member of the Air National Guard and worked at Bell Aerospace during World War II. On May 1, 1948, he married Stella Pilat at Holy Trinity R.C. Church. They were married for 65 years and she predeceased him on February 13, 2014.
Chester worked for over 30 years at Moore Business Forms on Buffalo Ave. as a printing machine operator. He was later employed by Bane Printing, National Time Share and Lindsay Photo as a photo developer and truck driver. He was a past member of the Holy Name Society and Usher's Club of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (Divine Mercy). In his leisure time, he enjoyed rose gardening, volunteering at the St. Stan's Polka Festival and renovating the Parish Center with his friends. Chester was proud of his Polish heritage and looked forward to the yearly trips to Ocean City Maryland's Polka Festival. He always cheered for the Toronto Blue Jays.
He is survived by his three children, Jessie (Mike) Divita, Diane Strack and Walter (Patricia) Wrobel; seven grandchildren, Angela (Derek) Frommert, Thomas DiVita, Steven (Sara) Strack, Daniel (Michelle) Strack, Richard (Latisha Lowery) Strack, Jennifer (Adam) Ventress and Kristen (Anthony) Casero; eight great-grandchildren, Elliot, Aidan, Ciera, Devan, Austin, Jaxon, Avery and Brooklyn; his sisters, Albina (late Joseph) Murawski, Florence Wrobel and Stella Wrobel. Also survived by many cousins in Buffalo and nieces and nephews in the area. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Trevor and Patrick Frommert; and his brother, Peter (Mary) Wrobel.
Friends may call Sunday, May 4th, from 3-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th St. cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Streets, with Reverend Jacek Mazur officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
