GRAND ISLAND-Harold A. Yensan, 80, of 1792
Whitehaven Road, who served continuously from 1939
until his retirement in 1962 as town highway superintendent
for Grand Island, died Sunday (April 23,
1966) in his home.
Shortly after his retire-,
ment, he was honored at a
testimonial dinner on Jan. 10,
1962, at which time he was
presented with a life membership
in the New York
State Association of Towns.
He had been e n g a g e d in
farming on the island since
1910.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Frankie Rose Yensan;
two sons. Raymond A. Yen-
san, Grand Island, and Clarence
L. Yensan, North Tonawanda;
a daughter, Mrs.
Wilfred Vanthoff, Grand Island;
two brothers, Max Yensan,
North Tonwamda, and
Benjamin Yensan, Tonawanda;
five grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1
p.m. Wednesday in the Kaiser
Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
