WEGENER - Janelle L., intensive care nurse

YOUNGSTOWN - Janelle L. Wegener, a charge nurse in the intensive-care unit of DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, died Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2003) in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy battle with lupus. She was 54.
She was born Janelle Eddy in Niagara Falls and graduated in 1966 from Niagara Falls High School. She attended Niagara County Community College in Sanborn and the University of Rochester, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Mrs. Wegener was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where she was a longtime choir member and member of the church's Women's Bible Study program and Zion Council.
She also was a member of the Stitch and Chat Group and had been actively involved in the Lupus Support Group at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
Mrs. Wegener is survived by her husband, James F. Jr.; her parents, Paul J. and Virginia Mack Eddy of Niagara Falls; a son, James P. of Niagara Falls; twin daughters, Janelle K. and Jeanette C., both of Youngstown; a sister, Dawn Cottrill of Erin, Ont., and a twin sister, Janette Carver of Sanborn; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Michigan Ave., Niagara Falls. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
