Agnes Irene Van Buren

BUFFALO — Agnes Irene Van Buren, of Akron, NY, entered into rest, unexpectedly, August 7, 2011 in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY. Born February 18, 1923 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Emma (Cummings) Hebeler.
Agnes attended DeSales High School in Lockport, NY. For several years she was employed at Harrison Radiator in Lockport.
Mrs. VanBuren enjoyed being a homemaker. Agnes enjoyed being a stay at home mother and caring for her children and her late husband. Her pride and joy was her family.
Agnes was a member of St. Teresa’s RC Church in Akron. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and being a true friend to all that knew and loved her.
Dear wife of the late George E. VanBuren, who died on December 28, 1992. Loving and cherished mother of Sherry (Ronald) Shimel, Nancy (John) Lang, Cynthia VanBuren and Richard VanBuren. Proud grandmother of Maria (Edward) Kreher, Michelle (Robert) Finnigan, Anita (Jeffery) Cummings and Allen John Lang. Great-grandmother of Anthony, Erik Kreher, Britany and Hunter Cummings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Teresa’s R.C. Church, Akron, NY. (Please assemble at the church.) Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Childs Funeral Home, LLC, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, NY. Burial in the Huskey Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Expressions of sympathy in Agnes’ memory at the family request be made to the Akron Fire Company, P.O. Box 1, Akron, NY 14001.
