Bartel. 65. of North Tonawanda. who
was pronounced dead on arrival
yesterday at DeGraff Memorial
Hospital
A long time Republican. Mr. Bartel
was a member of the North
Tonawanda GOP Club, a former GOP
committeeman and the party's
candidate for Fifth Ward supervisor in
1967.
Mr. Bartel was a retired John
Hancock Insurance Co. representative,
a member of the firm's retirement
club and union, the Columbia Hook &
Ladder Company and the Firemen's
Benevolent Association.
He is survived by his wife. Ruth;
four children and five grandchildren

Beloved husband of Ruth
(nee Wilkes) Bartel. father of
Mrs Dennis (Sharon) Clements
of Grand Island, Jean Bartel,
at home, Ronald Bartel of
Syracuse and David Bartel of
Rochester, N Y ; grandfather
of five grandsons; brother of
Mrs Mary Helwig of
Tonawanda, Mrs Mildred
Fonner of Chicago, Illinois and
Mrs Rose Main of North
Tonawanda; uncle of several
nieces and nephews.
