Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Steblein, of
Lockport, N.Y. have announced the
engagement of their daughter, Miss
Elizabeth and Pfc. Eugene Paul Covert,
one of the twin sons of commander
and Mrs. Graham Covert. The young
man is overseas with the Marines and
the wedding will take place when he
returns. He attended Sayville High
School. Miss Steblein is a graduate of
the training school of Buffalo General
Hospital and intends to enlist in the
Navy Nurse Corps.

Miss Betty B. Steblein, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Stebloin,. of
Lockport, N. Y,, became the bride on
December 1 of Eugene P. Covert, marine
private first class, formerly of
Sayville, in a ceremony performed by
the Rev. James McLaughlin in the
Mary Star of the Sea Church, San
Pedro, Cal.
The bride wore a turquoise dress
with brown accessories, and a shoulder
length veil. Her corsage was of white
camellias and carnations. Mr. and
Mrs. Lawerence Moeder attended the
couple as matron of honor and best
man, with Mrs. Moeder attired in a
powder blue suit with black accessories
and a pink rosebud corsage.
A reception followed the wedding at
the home of the groom's parents,
Comdr. and Mrs. Graham Covert, 132
S. Meyler Street, San Pedro, where
the couple cut their wedding cake.
Mrs. Covert was schooled in New
York and in 1944 was graduated from
Buffalo General Hospital. Covert re-
cently returned from nagasaki, Japan
and will be discharged in the near fu-
ture following four years' service.
