A very pretty wedding was solemn
ised yesterday afternoon at three thirty
o'clock, when Miss Arlene B. Ullrich,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gum
Ullrich of 211 Wheeler street became
the bride of Maurice H. Mates of
Young street, Rev. Andrew Hils of
the Salem Evangelical Lutheran
church officiating. The wedding took
place at the home of the bride, in the
presence of eighteen guests. The
bride was lovely in a gown of white
georgette, her lace veil, which was
the one her mother wore at her wedding,
being caught with sprays of
orange blossoms, and arranged in
bandeau effect. Her shower bouquet
was of bride roses, lillies of the val
ley and baby breath. Miss Edna Ullrich,
who was her sister's bride's
maid, wore a gown of rose georgette
and carried a bouquet of pink tea
roses, Raymond Schiller of Darien
Center, cousin of the groom was Mr.
Mate's attendant.
A wedding supper followed the
ceremony, covers being laid for eighteen
at a large table centered with
a wedding cake. The house was at
traetively decorated throughout with
colored garden flowers.
The guests from out of town who
at tended the wedding were Mr. and
Mrs Ellis Mates, parents of the
groom, and Raymond Schiller, all of
Darien Center. Mr. and Mrs. Mates
have gone on a trip to Washington,
D C. and upon their return will be
at home in 196 Young street.
