Long active In the athletic life of
the city, Peter B. Banks, 46, of
3036 Monroe Ave., died today
(May 12, 1955) in M»- St. Mary's
Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Banks once managed the
Phoenix football team. He was
city golf champion at one time in
the 1930s and was active also in
baseball and more recently in bowling.
A native of Poland, Mr. Banks
had resided here 44 years. His last
employment was in the maintenance
department at Niagara Street
School. Prior to that he was manr
ager of the Grand Bowling Alleys
and for 14 years was employed by
the Acheson Graphite Co.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Stephania Banks; two sons, Peter
B. Banks Jr. and Robert Banks*, a
daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Kowalski;
his mother, Mrs. Antoinette Bak,
all of this city; two brothers, William
Bak, this city, and Joseph Bak,
master sergeant, U. S. Air Force,
Hawaii; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie
Beczkowski and Mrs. Estelle Lazaration,
both of this city, and Mrs.
Charlotte Madau, Bellflower,
Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m.
tomorrow at the Zajac Funeral
Home.
Prayers will be said there at
10:30 a.m. Saturday and a Requiem
High Mass at 11 o'clock at St.
Stanislaus' Kostka Church. Burial
will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery
