St Peter's Catholic church
Lewiston was the setting for a love-
to autumn wedding this morning
when Miss Mary Margaret Piper, of
Lewiston, became the bride of Mr
Whitney Daggett Boardman, of
Jacksonville, Pla. The quiet cere-
ceremony was solemnized at 10 o'clock,
with the Rev. James A Lanigan
officiating.
White chrysanthemums were used
effectively in the church. Miss
Loretto Reading, at the organ, with
Miss Beatrice Farrell, of Erie, Pa.,
soloist, furnished the musical setting
for the service.
The bride wore a becoming rust
wool ensemble, the fitted coat fashioned
with beaver buttons. Brown
accessories and a green orchid corsage
completed her costume.
Miss Jeanne Piper, sister of the
bride and her only attendant, wore
a smart frock of gold wool with
green hat and brown accessories.
Her corsage was of violets.
Mr. Henry Clay Mofatt of Buf-
falo, was the best man and the ush-
ers were Mr. Charles f. McKenna,
Jr. of Rochester, and Mr. William
E. Murphy, of Lewiston.
A wedding breakfast served at
the Hotel Niagara for the wedding
party and immediate families.
A reception was held later at the
home of the bride's parents, Mr
and Mrs. Arthur J. Piper, of Lewis-
ton.
The parents of the bridegroom,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert D. Boardman,
of Jacksonville, Fla., were present
for the wedding.
The families of both the bride and
bridegroom have been prominent in
the affairs of the village of Lewis-
ton for many years. The bride-
groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Whitney, were members of
the well known Barton and Wheeler
families, of Lewiston. Mr. Piper,
father of the bride, has been mayor
of the village several times and has
been active in the political life of
the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Boardman will make
their home in Jacksonville, Fla.
