Miss Lois Dale, whose marriage
to Clifford Toenniessen, of Burt,
will be solemnized in the Methodist
Episcopal church tomorrow with the
Rev. G. C. Bucher officiating was
guest of honor at a kitchen and
variety shower Friday evening, the
hostesses being Mrs. Merton Dale
and Miss Mary Dale.
Twenty guests were present from
Wells, Lockport, Gasport and Newfane.
Games were played and a
bride's cook book was made. Refreshments
were served from small
tables. Miss Dale was the recipient
of many attractive and useful gifts.

NEWFANE, Dec- 2.-The Meth-
odist church was the scene of a
beautiful early winter w e d ding last
eveningg at 7 'o'clock when Miss
Lois A Dale. daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W Raymond Dale, of McClew
Road became the bride of Clifford
Toenniessen , son of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Toenniessen. of Burt
Mrs. Mabel Blgalow. organist,
rendered a program of music as
guests were assembling and George
May Jr sang, "I Love You Truly."
to the strains of Lohengrin, the
bridal party entered the churhc.
The bride, who entered on the arm
of her father, wore a white moire
gown fashioned with leg-o-mutton
sleeves and shirred bodice, high
collar and a long train. She car-
ried an arm bouquet of white and
pink roses tied with white satin
ribbons. She wore a finger tip veil.
The maid of honor was Miss Mary
Dale, of Newfane, a sister of the
bride. She wore peach moire.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Paul
Chapman, of Wells, and Mrs. Wayne
Duncan, of Youngstown, sisters of
the bride. Both wore aqua moire
gowns and carried bouquets in har-
monizing shades. Little Shirley
Murray, of Buffalo, was the charm-
ing flower girl who showered the
path of the bride with rose petals.
She wore a long taffeta dress of
lavender.
The groom, his attendant, Clyde
Toenniessen, and the officiating
clergyman, the Rev. G. C. Bucher,
pastor fo the church, waited at the
altar for the bride. The ushers were
Merton Dale and Maurice Dale,
brothers of the bride.
The church was attractively dec-
orated with an evergreen back-
ground before which were baskets
of white chrysanthemums. Six can-
dlebra, bearing many white can-
dles and two on the altar with the
candlelights furnished the illumina-
tion.
The bride's mother wore a floral
print, while the groom's mother
wore aqua crepe. their corsages
were of yellow autumn flowers.
A reception to 120 guests wer
held at the home of the bride's
parents. Refreshments were served
from the dining table centered with
flowers and bearing colorful can-
dles. Guests were present from
Buffalo, Wilson, Olcott, Burt and
Newfane.
mr. and Mrs. Toenniessen left on
a short eastern trip and, upon their
return, will be at home in Lake
Avenue, Burt. The bride's traveling
costume was green flannel with
black accessories.
The bride presented her maid of
honor with a desk lamp, her brides-
maid with a gold necklace and a
compact and she gave her flower-
girl a gold locket. the groom's gift
to his attendant was a silk tie and
to the ushers he gave a silk tie an d
a gold watch chain.
The bride had been entertained
prior to her wedding at a variety
shower by Mrs. Charles Simmons;
one by Mrs. Herbert Toenniessen; a
kitchen shower by Mrs. Merton
Dale and Miss Mary Dale, and a
linen shower by Miss Margaret Ry-
er.
