Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Doty, of
Lewlston, announce the engagement
of their daughter. Ethel, to William
J. Skimin, of Eleventh .street, this
city.

LEWISTON, Oct, 4.-Miss Ethel
Doty, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Doty, was united in marriage
Saturday morning at 11:30 In the rec-
tory of St. Peter's church to William J.
Skimin. son of Mr. and Mrs.William
Skimin, of 11th street, Niagara Falls.
Rev. J. A. Lanigan performed the
ceremony. Miss Mary Williamson
and Charles Argy, of Niagara Falls
attended them.
The bride was gowned in
transparent velvet with hat and slip-
pers to match and carried a bouquet
of roses and lilies of the valley. Her
attendant. Miss Williamson, was gown-
ed In pansy colored transparent velvet
with matching accessories and carried
an arm bouquet of roses.
The wedding dinner was served at
the bride's home, twelve being seated
at the bride's table, which was deco-
rated in yellow with a large wedding
cake as center piece. The home was
decorated throughout with fall flow-
ers.
The bride and groom left this
afternoon for a trip to Chicago
and other points after which they
will make their home in Niagara
Falls. the bride's travel outfit was in
hunter's green.
Guests were present from Lockport,
Niagara Falls, Youngstown and Lew-
iston.
Parties for the bride before her
marriage were a personal shower by
Miss Virginia Seick, variety shower by
Mrs. Fred Doty, linen shower by Mrs.
marion Zeuke and linen shower by
Miss Mary Williamson, of Niagara
Falls.
