Mrs. Julia F. Skimin, 539 Mem
orial parkway, died yesterday at Mt.
St. Mary's hospital after an illness
Of four months. She was 43.
Mrs. Skimin. who was born in
Buffalo and was brought to this
city at the age of two. uas the
daughter of the late Timothy and
Mars Murphy, She was active in
church affairs and interested in pub- Chestnut Ridge. She was a member
lie school activities through the work
of the Altar and Rosary society of
of her husband, Edmund J. Skimin,
a high school teacher.
She was a member of the St.
Mary's Mothers' Health club, the
Ladies of Charity, Ladies Catholic
Benevolent association and the
TenthStreet Mothers' club.
Survivors, in addition to her hus-
band, include three children, Ann C.
Edmund J., Jr., and Patricia C.; three
sisters, Hannah T. Murphy, Cather-
ine P. Murphy and Mrs. John C.
Johnstone, and a brother, Timothy
J. Murphy, all of this city.
Funeral services will be at the
family home at 8:15 a.m. Saturday
and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's church.
Interment will be in Gate of Heaven
cemetery.
