Vases of yellow and white chrysanthemums decorated
the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary Church yesterday
morning (October 26, 1957) for the marriage of Miss
Diane Evelyn Maacks and Jerome J. Brown. The Very
Rev. Msgr. J. Stanly Ormsby performed a double-ring
ceremony.
The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Maacks, Sanborn, was given in marriage by her
father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brown, Buffalo.
The former Miss Maacks
chose a floor-length gown'of silk
taffeta and Alcncon lace. -The
fitted bodice was enhanced with
a sabrina neckline of Alencon
lace scattered with seed pearls
and sequins. The full skirt fell
into a. chapel-length train. A
matching headpiece trimmed with
seed pearls held the veil of imported
illusion and she carried a
lace-covered prayerbook topped
with a white orchid and stephanotis.
Miss Wanda Pasicta, Buffalo,
was maid of honor. She was
attired in a floor-length gown of
crayon g r e e n nylon horsehair
over taffeta. It featured a sabrina
neckline and fitted taffeta
cummerbund at the 'waist. A
matching horsehair crown held
her face veil and she carried a
cascade bouquet of orchid chrysanthemums
and pompoms.
The bridesmaids, Mrs. Robert
Roach and Mrs. John Lapic, Niagara
Falls, arid Miss Ruth
Brown, Buffalo, wore orchid
gowns and matching headpieces
fashioned the same as the honor
attendant's. .
Miss Dawn Curtiss, Niagara
Falls, was junior bridesmaid. She
was attired in yellow taffeta With
a matching horsehair headpiece
and carried a cascade bouquet of
orchid mums. Susan Brown,
niece of the bridegroom, was
flower girl.
James Brown was best man
for his brother. Ushers were
Ralph Brown, Norman Bishop
and Gerald Takac, all of Buf-
falo. Timothy Brown served as
ring bearer.
An evening reception was held
at the Bergholtz Fire Hall. Mrs.
Maacks received guests wearing
a rose sheath dress of embroidered
lace streaked with silver
threads and matching accessor-
ies. The mother of the bridegroom
selected a sapphire blue
silk serge dress with matching
accessories. Each wore a cor-
sage of cymbidium orchids
