Funeral services will be held
Saturday for John H. McLendon,
2729 South Ave., who died yesterday
(Aug. 10, 1955) at Buffalo
General Hospital. He was admitted
to the hospital three weeks ago.
Born in Banks, Ala., Mr. McLendon
had been a resident of this
city since 1927. Prior to coming to
this city he served four years in the
U. S. Navy 'and was employed
seven years by the Western Electric
Co. in Chicago.
While a resident here he was employed
by the New York Telephone
Co. as a switchman and was
a member of the Pioneer Club of
the New York Telephone Co.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Antoinette McLendon; a son,
John H. McLendon II, Chicago: a
daughter, Mrs. Clarence Theis,
Chicago; and one sister, Mrs. H.
D. Grandquist, Chicasaw, Ala.
Funeral services will be held at
the Rhoney Funeral Home Saturday
at 10 a.m., the Rev. Richard
Davey officiating. Interment will
be in Riverdalc Cemetery.
