- Gail A. Andres, returned to her heavenly home on May 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with prolonged illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and, ultimately, gave her peace.
Gail was born March 7, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Eugene and Marjorie (Frawley) Andres.
She was immersed in the Christian community which became an enduring support throughout her life. She was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Gail was employed by the New York Telephone Company until her retirement. Following her retirement, Gail dedicated herself to being a caregiver to her immediate family and the extended family and friends that surrounded her life. She was very active in providing spiritual direction to residents at GuildCare of Niagara Falls where she volunteered regularly to share the word of God and to pray the Holy Rosary. In years past she also provided CCD and religious assistance at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
Gail was blessed with a loving family and will be deeply missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
She is survived by brother-in-law, Manfred Leissle, Niagara Falls, NY; niece Linda (Brian) Hohmann, Amherst, NY; nephew Robert Leissle, Tampa, FL; great niece Jillian (Andrew) Smith, Cookeville, TN and several extended family members. She is predeceased by her sister, Marjean Leissle and, the love of her life, Simon Zambotti.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20 from 3-7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Gail’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 21 at 12 Noon in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, 14301. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
