Mary J. Andrews, 65, of
104 South Doxtator St..
Rome, the wife of Charles
I. Andrews, died at her home
May 28. 1990. after a long
illness.
Born in Marcy July 31,
1924, a daughter of Charles
S. and Eva R. Cannon
Thomas, she spent her
younger life in Remsen, Stittville
and Lee Center. She
attended school in Lee
Center and Rome Free
Academy.
Her marriage to Charles
I. Andrews took place
September 30. 1942. in
Rome. For'22 years. Mrs.
Andrews was employed at
Grandway and Zayre's
Department stores where she
operated the lunch counter.
She had also been employed
at J.C. Penney Company
Department Store in Rome.
She retired in Jury. 1985.
due to ill health.
A member of the Lowell
Methodist Church, Mrs.
"Andrews was a former
member of the Order of the
Eastern Star. She also
bowled in the Too Tired
League in Rome.
Besides her husband, Mrs.
Andrews is survived by two
daughters, Ms. Diane
Herman, Garden _ Grove,
Calif., and Mrs. Ed (Gloria)
Patrick, - Boonville; two
sons, Thomas, J. Andrews
and Richard (Chuck)
Andrews, both of Syracuse;
seven grandchildren; two
great grandchildren;
sisters, Mrs. Margaret
White, Rome; Mrs. Annabelle
Rumble. Glenfield;
Mrs. Sally Sweeney, Rochester,
Wash., snd Mrs. Esther
Dauback, Rome and four
brothers, Thomas C.
Thomas, Long Beach, Calif.;
William J. Thomas, Walnut
Grove. Calif.; Edward
Thomas, of California, and
Lloyd Thomas. Temple, Tex.
She was predeceased by
two brothers. Richard and
Robert, and by a sister,
