LOCKPORT, Nov. 18-Services
for William P. Anson, 78. former .
Lockport vocalist and at one time
a rural mail carrier, will be con-
ducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at
Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home,
by the Rev. Ritchard E. Lyon, pas-
tor of the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Glenwood Ceme-
tery.
Mr. Anson, who died Thursday
in City Hospital, after an extended
illness, was born here Aug. 16,
1877, son of Samuel H. and Har-
riet Daniels Anson. He had been
a member of the Baptist Church
choir, the former Masonic Chorus
and the Jubal Quartet. The only
living member of the latter group
is Edwin J. Washbon. Other mem-
bers were Frank Harwood and
Jesse Shaffer.
After working for 13 years as
a rural mail carrier. Mr. Anson
worked in the rolling mill of Har-
rison Radiator Division, General
motors Corp., and later for the
former Niagara Chlorine Co.
Surviving are his wife, the form-
er Cora Godfrey; three daughters,
Mrs. Arnold E. McCloy, Hartland;
Mrs. Robert J. Berray, Rochester;
and Miss Ruth G. Anson, Buffalo;
a son, Clarence D. Anson, Buffalo;
and a brother, Ralph B. Anson,
Alden.
