ALIBION, Sept. 1 - Clayton
Elwood Day. 49, of Oak Orchard
Rd., a farmer here in recent years
and husband of a Lockport school
teacher, died Wednesday (Aug. 31,
1955) of a heart attack, shortly
after playing with his son in an
orchard at his home. His wife is
the former Elsie Gisel.
Mr. Day was born Sept. 5. 1906,
in the family homestead at Gaines,
two miles north of here.
Surviving besides his wife, are
his son, Clayton Rohmer Day, and
three sisters, Mrs. Mertie Smell,
Akron, Mrs. George Tyler, Corfu,
and Mrs. Mina Archer, Rochester.
Funeral services will be conducted
Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mc-
Nalls Funeral Home with the Rev.
Ronald Place, pastor of Gaines
Congregational Church officiating.
Burial will be announced later.
