BEYER - Mrs. Helen C.
Beyer, 95, of 59 Park Ave., Tonawanda,
died Friddav (May 30.
1969) at DeGraff Memortaf Hospital
after a brief illness. Born
in Shawnee, N.Y., Mrs. Beyer
was a lifelong resident of the
area.
A member of the Broad Street
Baptist Church, she was a former
president of the Mission
ary Society of the church for
three terms, and a former mem-
ber of the church choir.
Surviving are two daughters.
Miss Helen M. Beyer of Tonawanda,
with whom she resided,
and Mrs. James H. McGill of
Kenmore: two grandchildren,
Mrs. Laverne H. Hardy of Tonawanda.
and Paul J Hilferding
of Grand Island.
The late H. Ruth Hilgerding
was a daughter, and the late
Henry A. Hilferding, a grand-
son.
The family will be present
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
at the Hamp Funeral Home
Inc.. Adam-Seymour Streets.
Tonawanda, where services
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday.
The Rev. Earl Sidley will
otticiate. Interment in Elmlawn
Cemetery.

Memorial Hospital at the age of
95. She lived at 59 Park Ave.
A son. the late John Beyer Sr..
served as mayor of Tonawanda.
His son. John Beyer
Jr.. is an attorney in Buffalo. A
grandson. Paul Hilferding of
Grand Island, is vice president
of the River Road Lumber co.
in North Tonawanda.
Born in Shawnee, Mrs. Beyer
was a lifelong resident of the
area.
She was honored by members
of the family on her 92nd
birthday in 1965. At that time
she received birthday congratulations
from former
President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Mrs. Beyer was a member of
the Broad Street Baptist
Church in Tonawanda and was
president of the church's
Missionary society for three
terms. She was a former
member of the church choir.
Other survivors are two
daughters, Miss Helen M. Beyer
of Tonawanda, with whom she
lived, and Mrs. James H.
McGill of Kenmore: a grand-
child. Mrs. Laverne H. Hardy of
Tonawanda, and nine great-
grandchildren.
The late H. Ruth Hilferding
was a daughter, and the late
Henry A. Hilferding, a
grandson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamp
Funeral Home, Adam and
Seymour Streets, Tonawanda,
where services will be
condicted at 2 p.m. Monday, the
Rev. Earl Sidler officiating.
Burial will be in Elmlawn
Cemetery.
