One of the season's loveliest weddings
took place Wednesday morning,
June 11, when Margaret Mary
Carmody, daughter of Captain and
Mrs. Patrick J. Carmody, was wed
to Mr. Lewis P. Wood, Jr., son of
Mr. and ' Mrs. Lewis : P. Wood,
of Linwood avenue. The ceremony
took place at Saint Mary's of the
Cataract church and the Rev. John
Duggan officiated at the Nuptial
Solemn High Mass, assisted by the
Rev. P. J, O'Dwyer. deacon; Rev. T.
A. O'Rourke, sub-deacon.
The church was beautifully decorated
with pink end white peonies,
whlte satin ribbons marking the
family pews. ,
The bride, entering on the arm of
her father, was radiantly lovely In a
gown of pure white taffeta, cut on
simple Princess lines with a square
neckline and long, tight leg-of-mutton
ileeves coming to a point at'the
wrists. Her long veil of illusion,
edged In lace, fell from a coronet
of seed pearls and rhlnestones. She
carried a cascade of gardenias and
lilles-of-the-valley centered with an
orchid. Her only Jewelry was a
pearl necklace.
Miss Ruth Wood, sister of the
bridegroom and maid of honor,
wore a swishing blue and pink combination
marquisette gown with
yarda of skirt, full bishop sleeves,
shirred midriff waist and a demure,
young high 'neckline. She wore a
pink tiara with blue veiling and
carried pink roses and blue larkspur
tied with pink and blue satin ribbon.
The bridesmaids were Misses
Eileen Carmody, sister of the bride;
Hannah O'Leary and Helen Fltzpatrlck,
cousins of the bride, and
Margaret Collins. The Misses Col-
Una and O'Leary were gowned alike
In baby blue marquisette. " They,
wore large pink bonnets with chin
bands. Misses Fitspatrlck and Carmody
were dressed in pink gowns,
with blue bonnets. All ,four carried
colonial bouquets of pink rosebuds,
blue and pink sweet peas,
larkspur, delphinium, tied with pink
and blue .satin ribbon. All four
bridesmaids' gowns were fashioned
after the gown worn by the maidof-
honor.
Rosemary Carmody. sister of the
bride and flower girl, was very
daintily gowned In a baby blue marquisette
with a long full skirt. She
wore a pink net bonnet with chin
band and carried a miniature colonial
bouquet of rosebuds with pink
satin ribbon,
Mr. Patrick J. Carmody, Jr., broth
er of the bride, was the groom's
best man and his ushers were Mr.
Robert McKnlght. Mr. John Fitspatrlck.
Mr. Jerauld White and Mr.
Melvln Lashway.
The bride's mother wore a redlngote
of navy blue and white with
matching white accessories. The
mother of the bridegroom wore a
redlngote of blue and white print
with blue coat and matching acceasories
of white. Both wore corsages
of white gardenias.
After the ceremony, the wedding
breakfast was held at the Samovar
restaurant. Covers were laid for 50
guests. The reception was held In
the afternoon from 3 to 7 o'clock
at the Hibernian hall.
The couple left on a tenday
honeymoon trip to Washington.
D. c . and Virginia. The bride traveled
in a dusty pink shantung suit
with accessories of navy blue and
white and a corsage of orchids.

and daughter, Margaret Ann.
of Indianapolis^ Indiana; Mr. and
Mra. Thomas Bentley, Miss Margaret
Fltspatrick and Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Margaret Gilooley, Mrs. Anna
Callahan, Mrs. Raymond Barnum
and son, Raymond, all of Lockport,
N. Y.
Pre-nuptial affairs for the bride
Included a linen shower given by

by Miss Katherlne A. Wood: kitchen
shower given by Eileen Carmody;
bridge shower given by Carolyn
Liersch. at which the bride was presented
with a card table and chairs:
