For many years the only
woman lawyer in Niagara
Falls, Miss Viola T. Argy, 4619
Meadowbrook Rd., died Sunday
(June 18, 1961) in Mt. St.
Mary's Hospital, where she
had been a patient since May
15. She had been in poor
health some three months.
Miss Argy was a member
of the law firm of Findlay,
Argy, Hackett and Reid.
A native of Corinth, N.Y.,
she was brought to this city
by her family when she was
a couple of years old.
She was admitted to the
bar in 1927 and became a
member of the law firm with
which she had long been associated
in 1942. She was a
member of the Niagara Falls,
Niagara County and New
York State Bar Associations.
She was a past president
and charter member of Zonta
Club and a member of Niagara
Court No. 662, Catholic
Daughters of America, Nature
Sanctuary of Buffalo and
Studiosae Club.
Surviving are four sisters,
Miss A l i c e V. Argy, Miss
Genevieve Argy, Mrs. John
(Gertrude) O'Neill, all of this
city, and Mrs. John (Noreen)
Guthrie, New York City and
a brother, M i c h a e l James
Argy, this city.
° Services will be held at
9 a;m. Wednesday at the
Otto Redanz Funeral Home
and at 9:30 a.m.. at St, Teresa
of the Infant Jesus Church.
Burial will be in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited
by members of CDA at 8 p.m.
Tuesday.
