HARTLAND. April 16-The
wedding of Miss' Shirley Maria
Sutch, daughter of Myron L. Sutch,
Applcton, and Lt."Melvin George
Atwater, Barker, took place at
Hartland Methodist Church. Tht
Rev. Norman £. DoUglas officiated.
Given in rriarriage by her father,
the bride was gowned in white embroidered
nylon over white satin
with bolero of nylon. The full
skirt fell'in tiers. Her veil was fingertip
length. She carried a colonial
style bouquet She wore a necklace
and earrings of pearls, a gift
of the) bridegroom. ,
Miss Carol Sutch, sister of tha
bride, was maid of honor. Her
gown was ballerina-length yellow
net over taffeta. She wore yellow
net-halo hat and carried a Colonial
bouquet.
Miss Marilyn Clare, Hartland,
and Miss Frances Vincent, Newfane,
were bridesmaids. They wort
gowns and hats identical to the
maid of honor in pink and blue
respectively,and Colonial bouquets.
Beth Alice Campbell, flower
girl, wore shadowed nylon trimmed
in American rose, a . while
lace hat and miniature bouquet.
Ritbard Atwater and Jeffrey At- .
water, nephews of the bridegroom,
were ring bearers.
Gary Hepworth, Ithaca, was
best man. Robert Hoettl, Binghamton,
and Albert Culver, East Concord,
were ushers. All were college
roommates of the bridegroom
at Cornell University.
Mrs. Floyd Seward presided at
the organ and Miss Maiy Ann
Sherwood, Ithaca, was soloist. Mrs.
Sutch wore a gown of beige taffeta
with brown accessories and a corsage
of pink camellias. Mrs. Atwater
wore blue lace with" navy
accessories and pink camellia corsage.
A reception for 200 guests was
held at American Legion Hall,
Lockport, with Miss Meryl Walker,
Miss Roberta Mosher, Miss Elaine
Theis and Mrs. Shirley Taylor presiding
at the punch bowls.
Lt. and Mrs. Atwater left for
Ft. Drum where he is stationed.
The .bride's going away costume
was a light blue suit and red accessories.
Out-of-town guests attended
from Corning, Morrisville, Ft. Niagara,
Quonsct Point, Long Island,
Buffalo, Lockport, Barker, Appleton,
Gasport, Rome,. Lyndonville,
Ithaca, Bingha'mton, Rochester,
Holley. Medina, Middleport, Niagara
Falls and Tarytown.
Mrs. Atwater graduated from
Barker. Central School and Bryant
and Shatton Business School. Lt
Atwater also graduated from Barker
and Cornell University. He entered
the service Oct. 14. 1953,
and has been stationed at Ft. Lee,
Va., and Ft. Devans, Mass.
