NORTH TONAWANDA - Karen S. Binkley (Camann), age 64, of North Tonawanda, was called to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and reunited with loved ones on March 6, 2011, after a courageous battle with her illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 4, 1947 to the late Roland and Bernice (Milleville) Camann. Karen grew up attending Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and School, an active member of the Walther League of which she held many offices, and later became a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she served as the church secretary for 20 years, member of St. Matthew PTL, a Sunday School officer for 13 years, taught Vacation Bible School, was on the 100th Anniversary Committee, handwrote and directed Christmas programs and was a district deacon. Karen also enjoyed gardening, writing and spending quality time with her family.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Howard L. Binkley on September 14, 1997. She was a devoted mother and is survived by three daughters, Nicole (Allen) Ganz of Pendleton, Kim Binkley of North Tonawanda and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt of Wheatfield; twin sister, Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow of Lockport; granddaughters, Jamie Ganz and Sarah Ganz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Wednesday from 12-2 and 4-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
