Albert W. Platt of Appleton, NY, husband of Mary M. Joseph Platt, entered into rest on Friday, October 26, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 1, 1923, the son of the late Albert H. and Melvina Niebrich Platt. Albert owned and operated Platt Farms in Appleton, NY for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, euchre and poker. He also watched western shows and in his youth played shuffle board.
Father of David (Tracey Mellott) Platt of Burt, Catherine (Ed) Mackerwicz of NJ, Anne Platt of Lockport, Michael (Susan) Platt of Lockport, Cindy Bailey of Appleton, Doug (Peggy) Platt of Burt, Steven Platt of Buffalo, Carrie (Dan) Hogan of Albany, Kim (Andrew) Schuler of Lockport, Matthew Platt of Lockport and the late Christine and Lynne Platt. Brother of Norma Schwartz of Tonawanda, Paul (Linda) Platt of Appleton and the late Melvina Murray, Robert Platt and Jack Platt. Brother-in-law of Louella Carter of Niagara Falls, NY and Ruth Platt of Lockport. Also survived by 25 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family my call at the Newfane United Methodist Church, Main St., Newfane, NY on SATURDAY, November 3, 2012 from 10:30 AM-12 Noon, where a Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at church following the services. Memorials to Museum of Disability History, 3826 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14226 would be appreciated by the family.
