Mary Alice LaSpada

ROCHESTER — Mary Alice LaSpada (Seiler), formerly of Medina, passed away on Saturday evening, July 20, 2013, at Unity Health System, Rochester.
Mrs. LaSpada was born in Lockport, January 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick and Erma Anna (Baldwin) Seiler. On March 31, 1951, she married Joseph J. "Tomato Joe, The Jock" LaSpada, Sr., at St. Joseph's Church in DeRidder, LA. The couple resided in Lockport for a few years. During the 1950s and 60s, they operated a farm in Jeddo and in 1971 moved to Medina. She was employed by Ridge Road Express and the Medina Central School District, as a school bus driver. Later, she worked for Eastman Kodak Company, retiring in 1992.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane (Charles) Hage, Debbie LaSpada and Kathy (Darren) Mahoney; her daughter-in-law, Debra S. LaSpada; eight grandchildren, Joe LaSpada III, Chad, Jason, Ryan and Lindsay Hage, Kristina LaSpada, Kevin and Sean Mahoney; a great-grandchild, Kelsie Jo LaSpada; her sister, Sharon Mack and two brothers, Duane (Patty) Seiler and Michael Seiler; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on September 27, 2012; and her son, Joseph J. "Smokin Joe" LaSpada, Jr. on January 29, 2007.
Friends may call on Thursday (6-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church and interment will be in Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221; or Cottage Grove Memory Care Residences, 48 Cottage Grove Circle, North Chili, NY 14514.
