- Richard J. Pozak, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 2, 1937, the son of the late William and Anna [Krawczyk] Pokrzyk.
Mr. Pozak graduated from Niagara Falls High School and served in the US Navy.
He was an electrician with IBEW Local # 237, for over 30 years, before retiring in 1998. Mr. Pozak enjoyed playing golf, Polka Dancing and exercising.
He was the husband of 52 years to the late June M. [Glover] Pozak, who died in May of this year. Mr. Pozak is survived by one daughter, Julie A. (Joseph) Colosi of Niagara Falls, NY, one son Richard J. (Tiffani) Pozak, II of Lewiston, NY, five grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Vincent, Emma and Thomas, two sisters Louise (James) Babcock and Janice (Arthur) Garabedian, one brother John (Jean) Pokrzyk, also many nieces and nephews.
His family will be present on Friday, from 3-7 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation or to St. Peter's Church.
