LEWISTON — Irene M. (Banfield) LaGuille, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away, suddenly, on January 26, 2013, at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston. She was 91. She was born in Lewiston on November 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Bertram and Mabel (Stricker) Banfield. She attended local schools, including LaSalle High School and then married Clarence E. LaGuille in 1941. They remained happily married for 61 years until his passing in 2002.
Mrs. LaGuille was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church in Niagara Falls. She loved her flower gardens and her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Irene (Raymond) Bolea of Indiana and Shirley Bolea of Niagara Falls; her sister, Gladys Dunets of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Albert (Grace) Banfield and Leonard Banfield.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, on Tuesday from 3-8 PM, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. LaGuille's name to First Assembly of God Missions, 9750 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls, New York 14304.
