A beautiful and impressive winter wedding took place
Saturday, February 12th, in Ascension church, when Miss
Clara Barber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Barber of
52 Geneva street, became the bride of Sgt. Dominic DeMart,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo DeMart of 181 Tremont street.
A nuptial high mass was solemnized at 10 o'clock with the
Rev. Father Hunt officiating in the presence of 50 guests.
The bride who was given in
marriage by her father, was lovely
in a white gown with an old English
lace top and mousseline de
sole skirt with a long train. The
sleeves were long, coming to a
point at the wrists and puffed at
the shoulders. Her veil was plain,
of white tulle and a very long
fashioned train. A halo style
crown of seeded pearls and diamonds.
She wore white satin
sandals and carried a cascade bouquet
of white carnations, gardenias,
roses and sweet peas, tied with
a white ribbon and streamers.
Miss Margaret Barber, sister of
the bride, her only attendant,
wore a aquamarine gown of mousseline
de soie, princess style. She
wore a Juliet cap made out of
the same material as the gown
and sandals to match. She carried
a cascade of yellow roses
and pink sweet peas, tied with a
gold ribbon and streamers.
Mr. Anthony Macri was the
groom's best man.
The bride's mother chose a royal
blue dress with brown accessories
and wore a corsage of gardenias.
The mother of the groom
wore a navy blue dress with black
accessories and a corsage of gardenias.
Following the church ceremony
breakfast was served at the bride's
home. Later dinner was served
at the Delaware Grill with covers
being laid for the immediate families.
Private Frederick Barber
arrived from North Carolina to
attend the wedding. Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Bruzzi of Brooklyn, N. Y.
were present.
Sgt. DeMart and wife have left
for Shreveport, Louisiana where
they will make their home.
