Irving S. Benjamin. 73, of
3 Sherrill Lane, New Hart
ford, operator of the Benja-
min Auction House at 429
Bleecker St for the past 45
years, died Saturday.
He was born in London,
England, and came to Utica
when he was an infant.
Mr. Benjamin was a past
chancellor and charter member
of the Utica Knights of
Pythias, 'a past district deputy
of Pythias and past nobel
grand of Odd Fellows. He was
a member of Temple Emanu
El and was active, for many
years in work for the YMCA;
He.married Lillian Barber
in New York City in 1917.
Besides his wife he leaves
one sister, Mrs. Emanuel
Lichtman, Utica, and a broth-
er, Herman, Erie, Pa.
The funeral was at 2 today
from Temple Emanu-El with
Rabbi Elliot Waldman offici-
ating. Burial was in Temple
Emanu-El Cemetery, New
Hartford.
