Many relatives and friends witnessed
the lovely wedding of Miss
Violet H. Barber, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. L. Roy Barber, when she
became the bride of John A. Cook,
on September 5, at 3:30 p. m., at the
First Baptist church, the Rev. Charles
Rufus Oaborn officiating.
The bride was charmingly attired
in white sheer crepe and a turban of
white tulle with shoulder leigth tell.
White crepe sandals completed her
costume. She carried a bouquet of
sweetheart roses tied with satin
streamers.
Her only attendant was her sister.
Miss Myrtle Barber, who wore aqua
blue and coral, with silver accessories.
She carried a bouquet of Talisman
roses tied with coral ribbon.
The groom was attended by Joseph
Richie, of Brockway, Pa. Mrs. L. Roy
Barber, mother of the bride, was becomingly
dressed in navy blue crepe,
with matching accessories, and wore
a shoulder corsage of roses and Mies
cf the valley. The groom's mother,
Mrs. Henry Ward, wore brown crepe,
with brown accessories. Her corsage
contained roses and baby's breath.
Following ,the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held at the home of the
bride, with approximately 100 guests
attending. Music for the entertain-
ment was furnished by James Bate-
man's orchestra.
Out of town guests . were from
Brockway, DuBois and Houtzdale,
Pa.. Buffalo and New York City.
Pre-nuptial showers were by Mrs
George Barber, Miss Cyrtle Barber
and Miss Helen Miller, Mrs. Cook was
the recipient of many lovely gifts.
Following a trip to Pennsylvania,
Mr. and Mrs. Cook will reside at 402
Thirty-eighth street.
