Miss Jean Elva Barkow, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C.
Barkow. 2960 Weston avenue, became
the bride of Mr. James J.
Flanagan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Flanagan, 3317 Highland avenue,
Saturday afternoon at a ceremony
at the Zion Evangelical
Lutheran church. The Rev. Arthur
Schmoyer, D. D.. officiated in a
setting of white flowers and palms.
The wedding group included: Miss
Margaret Penman, maid of honor;
Miss Norma Barkow, Mr. Samuel
Flanagan, Miss Elvira Flanagan,
Miss Inez Flanagan, Mrs. Richard
Carr, Mrs. Richard Cummings,
bridesmaids: Mr. Edward Flanagan,
the best man, and the Messrs. Edward
Flanagan, William Flanagan,
Samuel Flanagan, Norman Brown.
Olenward Powell, Richard Carr and
Richard Cummings, ushers.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride wore a starched mlgnon
gown edged with Chantilly lace. A
halo of orange blossoms held her
fingertip veil which was edged with
lace. She carried a prayer book
decorated with streamers of orange
blossoms.
Mr. Charles Kamin accompanied
by Mrs. Eva Vosburgh provided the
musical background for the ceremony.
A dinner for 70 quests was served
at the Red Coach Inn. where later
a reception for 350 guests was held.
For traveling the bride wore a
purple gabardine suit with white
and gold accessories and white or-
chid corsage.
After a wedding trip to Phila-
delphia. Atlantic City and New York
City. Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan will
reside at 2960 Weston avenue.
