Ransom, 77, last of a pioneer
Niagara county family and former
village postmaster, died at 1 o'clock
this morning in the family home,
West Main street, after a long illness.
Mr. Ransom was born in Niagara
county, son of the late William H.
H. and Eliza Ransom, and lived in
Ransomville most of his life. He
served seven years as supervisor,
representing the town of Porter,
He was a member of uie Ransomville
Baptist church and a past master
of Ransomville Masonic lodge.
He served as postmaster for eight
years.
During the World war Mr. Ransom
was chairman of the Niagara
County Selective Service Rules board,
and a member of the Niagara
Pioneers' association.
He is survived by his wife, Grace
White- Ransom; one son, Philip of
Buffalo; one daughter, Mrs. Everett
Ward, of Sterlingville, N. Y., and a
sister, Mrs. Lottie Barry, of Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at
the home Saturday afternoon at 2
o'clock, the Rev. Paul F. Robinson,
pastor of toe Baptist church, officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Ernest
Sergei, also of Ransomville. Burial
will be in Norto Ridge cemetery.
