Pharmacist's Mate Florence R.
Batt, daughter of Norbert J. Batt
of 223 Christiana street, who is
currently stationed in the, U n i t ed
States Naval Hospital at Los A l -
amitos, Calif., was married A u gust
25 to M. J. Bailey, S K V 1/c,
attached to the aircraft carrier
command of the U. S. Pacific
fleet, her father announced today.
The couple met w h i l e Florence
went about her tasks as an a s sistant
in t h e surgery of the h o s pital,
and t h e friendship turned
i n t o an a l l - N a v y romance.
Florence is remembered in t he
T w i n Cities as t h e popular third
and fourth grade teacher at Gratw
i c k school for several years
prior to h e r enlistment in t h e
Waves. A graduate of North Tonawanda
high school and of State
Normal College in Buffalo, e n l
i s t ed in t h e Waves i n J u l y , 1943
She received her "boot" training
at Hunter College, N. Y., before
being assigned to h e r West Coast
station.
What the young couples plans
are for after the war, t h e y do
not know. But i n t h e meantime.

Mate F. Regina Bailey,
daughter of Norbert J. Batt,
of 223 Christiana street, and
M. J. Bailey, S.K.V. 1/c, were
recently married in California.
Reffina Is remembered in
the Tonavvandas', as the popular
third and fourth grade
teacher at Gratwick school. A
graduate of N. Tonawanda
High school and State Normal
College. Buffalo, she enlisted
in the Waves in July, 1943.
She received her boot training
at Hunter College, N. Y., before
being assigned to her
present post in the United
State Naval Hospital at Los
Angeles, Calif., where she is
an assistant in Surgery.
E. K. Bailey is atttached to
the air craft carrier command
of the U. S. Pacific Fleet.
