- North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 10/24/1936
George D. Batt, 66 years old,
died from a heart attack at his
home, 283 Miller street, at 7 o'clock
this morning. He passed
away, half an hour after being
stricken.
Mr, Batt had been a contracting
plumber in North Tonawanda for
the past 26 years. He was* a
charter member of Twin City
Council, Knights of Columbus.
Later he transferred his membership
to North Tonawanda
Council. He was an exempt fireman,
having served as a member
of the local fke department.
Mr. Batt was born -in North
Tonawanda and resided here
practically all his life. He leaves
a wife, Anna V., a son,. Merton
G., New York and two daughters
Mrs. R. L. Jeffers, Pittsburgh,
I and Mrs. Fred Quinlan, Tonawanda;
two grandchildren, a brother
John B. Batt, North Tonawanda,
and a sister Miss Catherine Batt,
Williamsville.
Rites will be held Tuesday
morning at 8:30 o'clock from the
residence and at 9 o'clock from the
Ascension church, Rev. Daniel
Malloy officiating. Interment will
be in Mt Olivet cemetery.
