A beautiful wedding was solemnized
at Ascension church on
September 25 at 9 a. m. when
Miss Harriett Batt, daughter of
Mrs. Eugene Batt, Sr.. of 145
Lincoln avenue. North Tonawanda,
and Cpl. Frank Kocsis of
2393 Falls blvd., Tonawanda, son
of Mr- and Mrs. George Kocsis,
were united in marriage. Rev.
La Rusch officiated at the solemn
high mass in a double ring
ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage
by her brother, Eugene Batt
Jr., of Buffalo. Her gown was
of white faillle, the bodice having
full length sleeves pointed at the
wrists, high round neckline with
a square yoke of embroidered
chiffon edged with lace, and but-
tons down the back to below the
waistline. The full bouffant skirt
formed a long train and she wore
a starched lace Dutch bonnet
trimmed with pearls and hip
length tulle veil. Her bouquet
was of white roses, gardenias
and baby mums with a shower
of dephinium buds tied with white
satin ribbon.
The matron of honor and only
attendant, Mrs. Robert F. Batt,
sister-in-law of the bride, wore a
blue faille gown styled like that
of the bride. Her headdress was
of blue ostrich plumes from which
fell a matching shoulder length
veil of tulle. She wore, long
mitts to match her gown and
carried a bouquet of talisman
roses, peach gladioli and blue
delphiniums tied with a peach
satin bow.
Pvt. Joseph Kocsis acted as
best man for his brother. James
Connley of Buffalo, cousin of the
bride, and Robert Schoelderman
were ushers.
The mother of the bride selected
a green crepe dress with black
accessories and a corsage of pink
roses and yellow mums tied with
green ribbon. Mrs. Kocsis, the
mother of the groom, wore a
brown crepe dress with matching
accessories. Her corsage was of
yellow roses and baby mums tied
with yellow ribbon.
A wedding breakfast for the
bridal party was held at the Park
Lane, Buffalo- Later a reception
for 150 guests was held at the
home of the groom's parents. The
buffet table was centered with
a wedding cake topped with a
miniature bride and soldier groom
which the groom cut with a German
officers' sword he brought
back with him from duty overseas.
The young couple left for a
week's wedding trip to New
Hampshire. The bride's traveling
ensemble consisted of a blue wool
suit- with matching accessories.
She wore a shoulder corsage of
red roses and white baby mums
tied with white ribbon. Upon
their return they will temporarily
live in 135 Lincoln avenue.
Cpl. Kocsis will report to Camp
Bowie, Texas late in October and
little later his wife will join
him there.
Out of town guests were present
from Massena. N. Y., Norfolk.
N. Y.. Buffalo, Niagara Falls
and Pennsylvania.
