Harry Wendt, 82, of '2109
Main St. died Tuesday (May
19, 1970) at Mount St. Mary's
Hospitali '.
Mr. Wendt had operated one
of the oldest north end businesses,
a barbershop at 2113
Main St. for 55 years. He retired
in 1968,when his shop was
destroyed by fire.
A native of this city,; he was
a charter member of the local
Journeymen Barber's Union
and a former member of the
Elks and Eagles. He was formerly
a manager of the Lewiston
baseball team.
. Survivors include his widow,
Florence Robins Wendt; two
nieces, Mrs. Archie J. Cross
and Mrs. Daniel Toomey, both
of this city; two nephews, Kenneth
D. Schwartz of this city
and William J. Schwartz of
Palm Springs, Calif.
Funeral services will be held
Friday at 11 a.m. at the Otto
Redanz Funeral Home Inc.,
Michigan Avenue and 10th
Street, with the Rev. Milan
Slahor, pastor of the Lutheran
Church of the Messiah, officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood
Cemetery.
The family will be present
from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
the funeral home today and
Thursday.
