Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Dayton Switzer who were
married recently in Immanuel Lutheran Church are
m a k i n g their home in 82 Court St., Portsmouth, N.H.
Mrs Switzer is the former Miss
Grace Jane Bowers, daughter
Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Bowers
Sr., 229 DeKalb St., Tonawanda.
Her husband is the son of Mrs.
Wendall Switzer, Bellow Falls,
and the late Mr. Switzer.
The Rev. Theodore Schroeder
performed the candlelight ceremony
July 1 before an altar enhanced
with white bouquets and
potted palms. Mrs. Fred Hardleben,
organist, accompanied Mrs.
Franklin Bossier, the soloist.
The bride's gown of silk organza
was styled with a lace bodice
and front skirt panel and long
sleeves. The organza skirt fell to
a chapel length train. An import-
ed Swedish crown held her illusion
veil and she carried a cascade
arrangement of white roses
and Fuji pompons centered with
a purple orchid.
Mrs. Henry L. Hudson Jr. was
matron of honor for her sister.
Mrs. Edward Bower ., Mrs.
Edward F. Gatke and Miss Nancy
Popp were bridesmaids. They
wore lilac silk organza seath
dresses with lace ovverskirts and
matching accessories. The ma-
tron of honor carried a cascade
bouquet of red roses and Fuji
pompons and the bridesmaids car-
ried bouquet of pink rosebuds
and Fuji pompons.
Douglas Karl Switzer was his
brother's best man. Wendall D.
Switzer Jr., the bridegroom's
brother, Henry L. Hudson Jr. and
Edward R. Bowers Jr. the bride's
brother, were ushers.
The bride's mother wore a turquoise
chiffon dress and matching
accessories. Mrs. Switzer chose a
grey and white print dress and
white accessories. Both mothers
wore orchid corsages.
Out of town guests attending a
reception in the Eldredge Club
were Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Yaklin,
the bride's grandparents of
Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Douglas M.
Williams, the bride's sister, and
her family of Gardens, Calif.;
Mrs. R. A. Switzer, the bridegroom's
aunt, and her son, Robert,
of Vermont. Other guests attended
from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky,
Massachusetts and New
York City.
To begin a trip to southern
New York State and the New
England states, the bride wore a
beige silk brocade sheath dress,
matching jacket and an orchid
corsage.
