Donald J. Rosinski, Sr., age 88, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born on October 1, 1930 in Lewiston, New York to the late Joseph A. and Frances (Dorywalska) Rosinski, Jr. He attended schools in Niagara Falls and shortly after graduation joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served his country during the Korean War.
After returning home he married and had three children. He spent 40 years as a chemical operator at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, retiring in 1994. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Lewiston #2 Fire Company for many years.
He married his second wife Sherry in 1978 and added four more daughters to his family. Donald loved gardening, was an avid bird enthusiast, enjoyed local car shows and roller skated until the age of 84.
Donald is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherry, 7 children: Deborah Jones (Brent) of Clearfield, PA, Teresa Rosinski of Youngstown, NY, Donald J. Rosinski, Jr. (late Diane) of Hinsdale, NY, Deborah Altman (Craig) of Tampa, FL, Peggy Caskey (Ken) of Peoria, AZ, Elizabeth Valentine (Carl) of Sanborn, NY and Mary Bragg (Mark) of Mesa, AZ, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 6 sisters: Charlotte “Esther” Shear, Jane Kluga, Mary Reese, Jean Oleksiak, Helyn Magdziak and Louise Ray.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11 AM at Pendleton United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 with military honors to follow the service.
