Myron "Monk" Patterson

NORTH TONAWANDA — Myron "Monk" Patterson, of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012, in Northgate Manor, North Tonawanda, NY, under the care of Niagara Hospice.
A member of the Beaver Clan, he was born at home on the Tuscarora Nation, March 30, 1932, the son of the late Percy and Eleanor (Chew) Patterson.
Monk was a laborer for Local #91. He was a roofer and worked for several construction companies before retiring from Patterson Stevens.
He loved to play bingo and cards and enjoyed working outside or just taking walks.
Monk is survived by his caretaker niece and nephew, Judy (Dean) Patterson; two brothers, Chief Stuart (Doris) Patterson and Percy (Deanna) Patterson, Jr., both of the Tuscarora Nation; five sisters, Pat Wegerski, Clara (Lawrence) Fish, Prisciela Williams, all of the Tuscarora Nation; Sarah (Tom) Kennedy of Independence, KY and Kathleen Wheatley of Brea, CA. He was the dear friend of the Gonzales family. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Beatrice (Oliver) Best and Norman (Clara) Patterson.
The family will be present on Friday from 10-11:00 AM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Walter A. Printup, Jr. officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Inurnment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
