Penn Tan. Aug. 17 - Mr. and
Mrs. William Aspell. 100 Court
street, armounce the engagement
of their daughter, Helen Rebecca,
to Clarence c. Bellis, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Bellis, Gorham.
Miss Aspell is employed in Buf-
falo as secretary in the helicopter
division at Bell Aircraft. Mr. Bellis
a veteran of World War Two, at-
tends the Rochester School of
Commerce.

Migs Helen Rebecca Aspell, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Aspell,
109 Court Street, Penn Yan, became
the bride of Clarence C. Bellis, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Bellis, of
Gorham, at St. Mark's Episcopal
Church, Penn Yan, Saturday, June
21, 1947, at 2:30 p. m. The single
ring service was performed by Rev.
John Wooton of Clifton Springs, and
Rev. Hiram Rogerg of Penn Yan.
The altar was decorated with baskets
of peonies, lilies palms and
camdelabras. The ends of the pews
in the center aisle were tied with
white ribbon and peonies,
Mrs. Leon PMstted. of Shingle
House, Pa., sang "Because", "I
Love You Truly," and "O Perfect
Love".
The bride, given in marriage by
her brother, David I. Aspell of
Pittsburgh, Pa., wore a gown of
white marquisette with lace jacket
and fingertip veil, lace mittens and
carried a white prayer book and
orchid.
Her matron of honor was her sis-
ter, Mrs. Richard sumner, Chapel
Street, who wore a powder blue
crepe dress and carried a colonial
bouquet.
The best man was Gordon Pres-
ton of Gorham. Ushers were Bur-
ton W. Aspell of Buffalo, brother of
the bride, and Herman Bellis of
Penn Yan, brother of the groom.
The bride's mother wore a navy
blue dress and hat with corsage of
white roses. The groom's mother
wore a blue print dress with white
accessories and a qorsage of red
roses.
A reception for about 40 guests
was held at the home of the bride.
Out-of-town- guests included Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Burton, Rochester;
Mr. and Mrs. David I. Aspell
and children, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mr.
and Mrs. Leon PTaisted, Shingle
House Pa-;Mr and Mrs. Burton
Aspell, Buffalo; Rev. John Wooton
and son, John of Clifton Springs;
Mr. and Mrs. William Manley, Roch-
ester; Miss Margaret Wooton, New
York City; William Aspell and
daughters, Marjorie, Virginia, and
Lillian of Centerville, and many
former neighbors from Milo Center
and vicinity.
The couple will be at home after
July 1.
The bride graduated from Penn
Yan Academy and is employed in
the engineering department of Eastman
Kodak Co., Rochester. The
groom graduated fiiom Gorham
central school, served four years
and eight months in the U. S. Army
and is now a student at Rochester
School of Commerce.
