George F. Benzino, fifty years old.
died suddenly at his home, 301 Broad
street, early this morning. Stricken
with heart failure at 11 o'clock last
night, he died at 2 o'clock.
While on a fishing trip to Port Mait
land, Ont., last week symptoms of
heart disease developed and he was
forced to seek medical attention sev
eral times before arriving home. Ben-
zino's condition was not consider-
ed serious, however, until a short time
before his death.
Benzino was born in Buffalo. He
came to the Tonawandas to reside
nineteen years ago. During, his resi-
dence here, he was engaged most of
the time in the produce and grocery;
business. He had conducted stores in
various parts of the Tonawandas, his
last location being at 18 Young street.
He was a member of Tonawandas
Aerie, F.O.E.; Swift Water Tribe,
Redman; Gratwick Tent, K.O.T.M.,
and the Eldredge Bicycle Club.
Surviving are a wife, two sons,
Frank W. and George J. Benzino; two
daughters, Mrs. Franklin Diedrich and
Miss Melva C. Benzino; a mother, Mrs.
A. L. Frost of Erie, Pa., a brother,
Charles Benzino of North Tonawanda,
and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie B. Mills,
of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. John Hana-
van of Buffalo.
The funeral will be held Tuesday
afternoon.
