A double-ring candlelight ceremony
was solemnized by the Rev. Ray K.
Hallin at 3 pjn., Saturday, May 18,
In the Bacon Memorial Presbyterian
church, uniting in marriage Miss
Mildred M. Berger, daughter of Mr.
Fred Berger of 347 Seventy-fourth
street, and Mr. William E. Sherwood,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sher-
wood of Sanborn. The church was
decorated with baskets of calla lilies
and gladioli.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was gowned in white
satin, fashioned with a sweetheart
neckline and long sleeves pointed
at the wrist. Her long veil of dou-
ble illusion with Chantilly lace edg-
ing had satin hearts inserts. She
carried a large cascade bouquet of
pila lilies-of-the-valley with a large
satin bow.
Miss Helen Sherwood, .sister of the
bridegroom, was maid of honor. She
wore a gown of blue net with sweetheart
neckline and full skirt with
pink flowers at the side. Her headdress
was of pink rosebuds and a
blue veil. Her bouquet was of spring
flowers with blue satin streamers.
The bridesmaids, Mrs. Eleanor Piper,
sister of the bride, and Mrs.
Frederick Goodbury were gowned
alike in pink net fashioned on the
same lines as the gown worn by the
maid of honor. Their bouquets were
of yellow and white daisies with
pink satin streamers.
Miss Maybelle Berger, sister of the
bride, was Junior bridesmaid. Her
gown was of blue net made on the
same lines as the others. She carried
a Colonial bouquet of daisies
with pink satin streamers.
The tiny flower girl, Karen Ann
Goodberry, wore a long dress of pink
net, with swetheart neckline, a full
skirt trimmed in pink and blue. She
carried a large basket of white and
yellow daisies-with a large satin
bow.
Mr. Robert Sherwood, cousin of
the bridegroom, was the best man.
Mr. Robert Berger, brother of the
bride, and Mr. Leland Sherwood,
cousin of the bridegroom, were the
ushers. Frederick Berger, brother
of the bride, acted as ring bearer,
carrying a large heartshape pillow
ol satin and net with long streamers
of satin ribbon with net bows.
The bridegroom's mother was
gowned in navy blue and wore a
corsage of pink roses.
A reception was held at the home
of the bridegroom for more than 75.
The table was beautifully centered
with a three-tier wedding cake.
For her traveling costume the
bride chose a light brown suit with
dark brown accessories.
Alter a honeymoon through Canada
and the New England states, the
couple will reside at 247 Seventyfourth
street, this city.
