Baskets of white chrysanthemums
and vases of white pompons
and mums adorned the altar
of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara
Falls, N.Y., for the wedding of
Miss Karen Englander, daughter
of Mrs. J. Elson Putnam, Richburg
and Morey Englander of Niagara
Falls and Ernest Bevacqua,
son of Peter Bevacqua and the late
Mrs. Bevacqua Saturday morning
(Oct. 15, 1955) at 9 o'clock. The
Rev. Michael DelVecchlo officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
Escorted to the altar by
her stepfather, Elson Putnam,
the bride wore a gown of
(Chantilly lace and nylon tulle with
pleated nylon tulle with pleated
nylon tulle accenting the neckline
of illusion and lace applique and
sequins enchancing the neckline
and cathedral-length train. Her
veil of imported illusion fell from
a matching lace head piece. She
carried a white Satin prayer book
topped with a white orchid and
streamers of lilies of the valley
and white stephanotis.
Mrs. Charles Guagenti, matron
of honor was attired in a ballerina
-length dress of American Beauty
rose velvet with a cawl collar, and
Soft-flared skirt. The head piece,
was of matching velvet. She carried
a cascade of American Beauty
.-roses interspersed with white pom-
3>oms.
Miss Norma Bevacqua, sister of
the bridegroom, Miss Peggy Maulis,
and Miss Sally Walsh Allegany,
cousin of the bride were bridesmaids
and were attired as the matron
of honor. They carried a cascade
of pink roses with pink
gloves, they also wore pink highheeled
shoes.
Francine Anne Bevacqua, niece
Of the bridegrQom, acted as flower
girl. She was Stttred in a dress of
American Beauty rose velvet with
a pink ruffled petticoat. She carried
a small white basket of Amerian
Beauty roses, and her head
piece was a band of lucite topped
with a matching bow similar to
her outfit. She wore pink gloves,
pink socks, and pink sandals.
Charles Yabaldo was best man,
and Charles Guagenti, Harlan Neilson,
and Sperry Oliver ushered
guests to their seats.
Breakfast and dinner and the
reception were held a t the Country
Club.
The mother of the bride was
attired in a royal blue knit suit
with navy blue accessories and
had an orchid corsage. The grandmother
of the bride was attired in
a black suit with white accessories
and wore a corsage of red rose
buds.
For the departure on the wedding
trip to Washington, D.C., and
southern states, . Mrs Bevacqua
wore a charcoal gray shantung
suit with rhinestone buttons, with
black and white accessories, accented
with a white orchid corsage.
The bridal couple will reside
at 633, 16th St. Niagara Falls.
