OBI-Robert B. Wolfer of 8607
Daggett Hollow Road died Thursday
(April 14, 2005) at the Waters of
Houghton Nursing Home atter a short
illness.
Born April 6, 1923, in Hume, he
was a son ofWilliam and Nellie Billings
Wolfer. On Feb. 18, 1945, in Olean,
he married the formerTheo M. Perkins,
who died Feb, 28,2001.
A resident of Obi since 1951, Mr.
Wolfer was a veteran of World War II,
serving with the U.S. Army. He received
three Bronze Battle Stars and a
European African Middle Eastern Theater
Ribbon.
He was employed by Dresser Clark
Industries in Olean until his retirement
in 1985.
He was a member of the United
Steelworkers of America Local 4601.
He attended the Obi Community
Church.
Surviving are two sons, Danny
(Judy) Wolfer of Churchville and
Duane (Darlcnc) Wolfer of Hilton; a
daughter, Sharon (Vic) Burrows of
Newport, Va.; seven grandchildren; five
great- grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews; and a special friend, Helen
Lewis of Fillmorc.
He was predeceased by a daughter,
Sheila Germack; a sister, Millie Henry;
and three brothers, Carl Wolfer,
Frederick Wolfer and Donald Wolfer.
Friends called Sunday at the
Guenther Funeral Home Inc., Pormlle,
where funeral services were held Monday.
The Rev. David Wood, pastor of
the Obi Community Church, officiated.
Burial will be in Chestnut Hill
Cemetery, Portville.
Memorials may be made to the Obi
Community Church or to a charity of
the donor's choice.
