The sudden-death of Mrs. Emma
J. Birge, aged 77, occurred at her
home' on Elm street Tuesday
morning, Mrs. Blrge had not complained-
of feeling ill' and had retired,
as usual on Monday night.
Tuesday morning she was found
dead In. bed.
Mrs. Birge was born In Clinton,
August 4, 1855, a daughter of the
late George and Jane Endsworth.
Bradley and spent all her life
here. She attended Clinton Liberal
Institute and in 1878 was married
to John Birge who died a number
of years ago. She was a member
of .the Presbyterian . Church and
Grace Chapter, O.E.S. Surviving
are two sons, Walter S. Birge of
Clinton, and Wallace W. Birge of
New York City; a brother, George
Bradley of Whitesboro and two
grandchildren, Claire and Robert
Birge of this village.
The funeral was held this
(Thursday) afternoon at her late
home, Rev. Harold W. Wylie of-
ficiating. Burial was made in Sun-
set Hill Cemetery.

Emma, Jane Bradley was born
in Clinton Aug. 4, 1855. daughter
of the late George and Jane Endsworth
Bradley and always lived In
that village. She was married in
1873 to John Birge, deceased. She
was educated in Clinton Liberal
Institute and was a member of
the Presbyterian Church and Grace
Chapter, O. E. S.
Surviving are two sons, Walter
S. of Clinton and Wallace W.
Binge of New York City and a
brother. George F. Bradley,
